Jimi Hendrix, even in a rich and cultivated time, like the 1960s, stood out for excellence. The masterpiece left by this great genius has a ray of planetary reach and for distant centuries.

The first time I heard this song at Memorial Auditorium, Dallas, Texas on April 20, 1969. I was introduced to a new band called Chicago Transit Authority and one called Fat Mattress. The Experience was magnificent. Jimi had no Marshall - but a stack of nine Sunn amps. Had a Wah-Wah for the first time live. It was a truly a service of the Electric Church!
